Tribute to Dan Ellsberg Event

National Whistleblower Day. Whistleblower Summit, July 30. National Press Club, DC

This event was held at the National Press Club to honor the legacy of my friend, Dan Ellsberg, considered the patron saint of whistleblowers.

Much gratitude to Todd Pierce for recording and editing the video testimonies and the live panel and thanks to all who participated.

This opens with a recording of a phone message that Dan left for John Henry. It is followed by a video of Caitlyn Johnstone’s video of her poem, “Thank Yo for Your Service,” followed by reflections from Patricia Ellsberg, Richard Falk, Chris Appy and Helen Caldicott, followed by a creative video of Margaret Anna Alice’s poem, “Ode to a Whistleblower,” followed by a live panel - me, John Henry, Peter Knick, Ann Wright, Medea Benjamin, and John Kiriakou.

We will honor Dan as the father of whistleblowers featuring a walk through history with pivotal moments in Dan’s evolution as a whistleblower, as told by Dan’s friends, Personal witnesses and grateful truth-tellers, inspired and nurtured by Dan.
