Thank you for this insightful analysis, Diane, pointing to the need to look deeper into the causes to find transcendent solutions. Here's an article that talks about Viktor Medvechuck--Ukrainian politician of a major opposition party, now banned and banished from the country--pointing out that when the Soviet Union collapsed, the US/West and Russia had very different visions of what should follow. The US/West intended to now become the sole superpower, whereas Russia wanted to see a new era of cooperation among equals. https://natyliesbaldwin.com/2023/01/tass-medvedchuk-publishes-first-article-in-russian-daily-on-situation-in-ukraine-after-swap/ More and more of the world is now realizing that and opting for the latter.

Thanks for writing this. You said everything I wanted to say about what is wrong with the captured minds behind the Doomsday Clock and The Bulletin. I lost respect for them when they fell into Trump derangement syndrome in 2017 and set the clock forward just because scary orange man had his finger on the button.

It's the dominant paradigm and most everyone thinks like that and are not aware of alternative approaches. It seems most think tanks and grad school in international relations and political science are immersed in realism theory of power politics, it's like the medical model and ignorance of naturopathic, functional regenerative medicine. I don't think they are bad people. We need a paradigm shift. Thanks for your response.

The doomsday clock seems like a very simplistic way to manipulate the public, always using fear to distract us from the shenanigans performed by people in control.

I think when it began and until now truly believe that the solution is to sound the alarm and if people know how terrible things are they will do the right thing. Although people do have to come out of denial and psychic numbing but that isn't to enough. There is little awareness of constructive solutions.

'Nuclear' is hardly the only threat to us. Why don't we look at the underlying reasons for why we do what we do? There are a;so EMF's, plastics in the ocean, poisons in water and in the air, lack of transparency and honesty in politics - why do we want and allow this to happen in each of our lives? We each have to go deeply into our own lives to see our own multiple motivations for why we do what we do, and let go of what doesn't serve us and isn't useful. Change and expansion of conscious awareness will ultimately bring cultural change

I agree with all the threats and need to go into our lives, and consciousness, and must also address the sources- top down, which is not separate from our own consciousness and knowledge. Also refusing to comply and not be part of the problem. I worry about plastics in the ocean and EMFs too
