I believe part of the problem rests on the reality that what we are seeing is literally unbelievable. It sounds like a conspiracy theory so it's easily dismissed. I personally have trouble wrapping my brain around it and I've been witness to this for almost 2 years working with the FLCCC. We do know that this is real however. We know that editors of the leading medical journals have been aware of the capture of our public health agencies by the pharmaceutical industry for many years. It may help to share this information with friends who have trouble believing all of this.

Dr. Marcia Angell, Harvard physician and editor in chief of the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) said:

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor.”

Dr. Relman, another former editor in chief of the NEJM said this in 2002 - “The medical profession is being bought by the pharmaceutical industry, not only in terms of the practice of medicine, but also in terms of teaching and research. The academic institutions of this country are allowing themselves to be the paid agents of the pharmaceutical industry. I think it’s disgraceful.”

Richard Horton, editor in chief of the Lancet said:

“The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness” (2). Excellent point. It is unbelievable. Younger people I know, mostly males, trust the institutions to protect us and can't imagine what is actually happening, Makes me think of during WW II people tried to warn about the concentration camps but they were not believed. Part of the psychological hurdle we have to overcome.

Thank you for references and links. As a soon to retire academic (not in STEM), I've witnessed the compromise of peer-review in the areas I know of. One seldom knows what to say. The public watch dogs are now corporate guard dogs: regulatory capture. We need to question now what the FDA, CDC, and NIH provide us. But doing so is time-consuming and energy consuming. No disrespect intended, but for certain issues, even the average college educated person might face considerable challenges in "doing their own research." But I do not know how we restore integrity to public institutions, still funded with taxpayer dollars, but now thoroughly dependent on the self-serving largesse of private corporations.

I , too, "have trouble wrapping my brain around" the past two years: feels like we are living in dystopian sci-fi novel.

Thank you Diane for taking the time to do such a thorough report on the "March Against the Mandates." I watched the whole event on line and I completely agree with you! It was a wonderful event. It was calm, peaceful, loving. I kept checking the MSM (cnn, msnbc, fox, etc. during the whole event. I never saw any coverage! Shocking! I began as a Civil Rights Activist in 1962 and was a Field Secretary in SNCC based in Mississippi & Georgia. I have been in every Movement, Civil Rights, Women's Rights, Anti-Vietnam War, Peace in the Middle East, Stop the War on Iraq, Afghanistan, and on and on! 58 years in the Movements for Peace and Justice! I have been on soo many Marches! All have been covered by the MSM. Never have I seen such lies, distortions, censorship, etc. This is beyond disturbing. How can this country silence 1 million people who have been adversely effected by these shots and the families of the 12,000 who have died from them? How is this possible. Almost Everyone I know has been vaccinated, 2xs with boosters. Many have gotten Covid post the injections! Yet, there are no questions! I am shocked. I am scared! Thank you again, Diane and thank you to the Brave & Courageous doctors, scientists, nurses, lawyers, journalists, and the people who braved the cold and possibly the virus to attend the March. They give me hope; the only real hope I have.

Good to hear more about your activist life - very parallel to mine. Most people I know are also following orders but happily I have been finding new kindred spirits, some on Substack, which is gratifying. I hope you can find and build an in person community.

The news coverage was hard to read for those of us who experienced the diverse, peaceful, stirring reality of the rally. But it was also affirming. We are not crazy. They really are lying. If they are lying about the things we can see with our own eyes, why would they be telling the truth about the things that are hidden?

Were you there? Yup, lying. It is fascinating to me how people have absolute certainty abut things they do to know. It clarifies the task ahead.

"If you disagree with a politician on policies and political issues, do not automatically reject 100% - Example: Democrats who disagree politically with Senator Ron Johnson, as do I, mindlessly ignore his amazing hearings...Likewise, if you don’t like Senator Rand Paul’s politics, that is no reason to reject the Wuhan lab origin data that is by now well-accepted."

We've been conditioned for decades into polarization. One small positive aspect of all this is that I've consciously started looking at content, not messenger. It can be a struggle! It's very uncomfortable to listen to a Ron Johnson or a Rand Paul without outright dismissing them. But worthwhile.

I appreciate your comment. That is part of the solution, transcending duality. We have strange bedfellows. I also have struggled with gut reactions and stil do when they call Democrats communists. We all need to transcend party - easier if we do it for both sides. I was talking to some guys with MAGA hats and said we have to work together. Then I said when you call Democrats communists it doesn't;t help. He made a comment agreeing that Dems are communists. I said when you do that you lose me, it doesn't help. Some people lose me but there are more rising. At the rally the energy was transcendent. .

You can send this to Neil Young. I don't know how. Glad you recognized the logic of the Ann Frank example - obviously not ready for prime time, or hungry predators.

Young showed some bad thinking 20.5 years ago when he decided to go rah rah for GWB. And he hung it on the south of Lynyrd Skynyrd a few decades before that which begat Sweet Home Alabama.

Another masterpiece, Diane. Thank you. I do know people who refuse to listen to a second of something organized by Senator Johnson. I hope they can come to understand how ridiculous that is ... as I see in regretful retrospect how wrong I was to assume there was nothing to hydroxychloroquine because it was always said in conjuction with Trump. What a tragic loss of true information at a critical time ...

I am flattered, thanks, We have been so polarized, increasing from stolen elections, Bush, Iraq war, then Obama and the Tea Party - political hysteria, escalating with Trump. It is challenging for most of us. You assumed there was nothing to HCQ because of a fraudulent study and media hype on NPR & MSNBC. Bit by bit, truth is coming out.

I was a bit disappointed that the rally didn't get a longer permit beforehand.

A lot of good speakers were lined up, from the left who are pro freedom and pro worker. It would have sent a message of unity, no more party lines dividing us on this big issue of human rights.

Me too. I know Max Blumenthal who was supposed to speak, and Jessica Rose - but should beyond left and right - and I think it was. Next time- I think they do this mourned the world every 2 months - so may be a next time.

Hi Diane. I was in the Critical Thinking Propaganda class with you. Thank you for the well reasoned article in defense of RFK, Jr. I thought you might be interested in reading this article about the group that started the controversy over Joe Rogan on Spotify. The people who caused the phony feud were supported by the usual suspects, George Soros, the Rockefeller Foundation, Media Matters, The Atlantic’s COVID-19 Tracking Project, a now defunct endeavor that was funded by Mark Zuckerberg, the Rockefeller Foundation, among other far-left institutions. They started a petition supposedly signed by doctors or medical professionals which turned out to be fake. Leave it to Fakebook to think of something to rile people up about being told the truth regarding the Covid-19 jab.

Spotify promised to “combat misinformation.” The propagandists still want Spotify to fully censor Rogan so they tried to take the shine off of Rogan's successful show. Look under every rock when feigned outrage shows up to ruin something enjoyable and effective for our side.

Well done. I watched the entire presentation and was pleased to see so many represented including those of Jewish, Christian, and Islamic faiths. RFK Jr's speech was incredible. The propagandists at big media are following orders to discredit those who speak the truth.
